As well as being an end in itself, graphic design is often a means of holding other things together, and an element of visual design has been essential to a greater or lesser extent for each of the areas of work listed left. For example, my previous role as part of the Imaging the Bible in Wales research team included the design of the website and publicity, as well as the online database and DVD-ROM.
In addition to design for other activities, I also work as a designer for printed and digital media on a freelance basis.
